I'm building a 6x6 hunting blind this weekend (will post pics when done). Anyone have suggestions for what bells and whistles I can throw into the build? Pictures appreciated.

I am putting a solar panel and deep cycle battery in mine this weekend to recharge my cell phone and to power a light and maybe a fan.

All good points. A full door makes it tighter for bugs and critters. Since you're going 6x6, put a blanket in that dude.

and a shelf right below the windows around the full length of the blind...works for a real nice elbow rest.

Rubber horse stall mats on floor. Keeps it very quite moving your chairs around. Or keeping 5 year old grandson quite. Lol. And a Mr. Buddy heater is a must. RD

Cool. Ive got a lot of carpet rolled up in the garage, I'm gonna carpet the floor and the shelving. Maybe the walls up to the window (fidgety kids tend to kick the walls).

I like the heater idea. Is it safe to run propane heaters in a stand?

We run Mr buddy heaters in all of ours with no problems. We start them up when we get in the blind, let it warm up and then turn them off. If we start to get to cold we will turn them back on. Also just a good idea to keep extra gas in the blind for them as well. It never fells when I dont have a spare in there they are always empty or run ot in about 10 minutes

Funnel in the corner with a hose going thru the floor for relieving yourself from the morning coffee and afternoon adult beverages.

Glass sliding windows. Plexiglass scratches and its nice having the windows closed on those really cold windy sits.

X2 on the Mr. Buddy heater. Get the adapter for the large propane bottle. You'll have plenty of room in a stand that size and won't have to worry about changing bottles so often.

I have deer view windows, a shooting bench with sandbags for those long shots, shelves, carpeting (floor, bench, and shelves), and a comfy office chair.

X2 on the large bottle adapter. No need to have that bottle in the stand with you though. Just drill a hole and run the hose through the floor or wall.

I put carpet on the walls of one blind and the mice loved it. They would get between the carpet and the wall....no more carpet on walls now.

Did this as well. Seal it up with some caulking to keep bugs and wasps out.

We use the 5 gallon propane conversions and have the bottles sitting on the ground, with the heater mounted on a stand we built.

some wooden dowels to hang coats, etc.
so they won't be in the muddy floor,
and so someone won't back into or run
their head into a rusty nail sticking
out of the wall.

a container with a tight sealing lid to
keep your extra stuff in (ammo-crackers-
extra water bottle-etc.) that you keep in
the blind so bugs and varmints won't muck
it up and make it unusable.

Solar power all the way, I love mine. Spot light built-in for hog hunting.

I just finished 2 blinds both 6x6's I wired both blinds for 12 volt. I added 2 LED red lights and one white and put them on switches. In my blind I have 3 12 volt power ports one is hot all the time and the other 2 I put on switches. one of the ports with the switches is going to be used for my fan which is mounted just above the front window so I can turn it off with out getting up to reduce movement. I also put in both blinds 2 windows (plexiglass) one on each side of the front window the folds down so I can still see out if it's raining. I built in shelves and shooting rests. I also put in coat hooks on the door and a hook to hang my holster on for my pistol. carpet on the floor and on the shelves.
