My father and I hiked up Mt. Timpanogos today in American Fork, UT. It was an elevation change of 7,000 ft at the base to 12,459 at the summit and 16 miles round trip. It took us six hours to get up and six hours to get down (hurt knee on the way down made the descent very slow). We started at 6 am and got back in the car right at 6 pm. The summit from below:  Looking over Utah Lake and the BYU campus.  Looking back towards Draper, UT:  6 hours in and finally at the summit with Salt Lake City behind us:
