My daughter surprised me and told me she wanted a 1911 pistol as a commissioning present. She's left handed so needs an ambidextrous safety, with the limited availability of quality 1911's, I jumped on this one http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=358589104 It should end up right at $950 delivered. How did I do?

Should make a good present. It's alot more about the hands that finish it than the parts that start it. While I agree on a solid foundation, well fits parts function better and last longer. For the money that's a hard deal to beat.
Tell her congratulations.
