Heard the yotes howling away tonight and thought I'd put up a few pics from last winter. We typically only hunt yote in the winter as the thick winter pelts are worth money (+/- $35 plus bounty of $50-100 depending on location). Put one in with neighbours daughter and the hounds for scale.

The latest theory is that they are actually wolf/coyote hybrids as the size has slowly been getting larger over the last 40/50 years. We don't have wolf in our area but it's only about 80 miles until you are wolf territory and apparently they started mixing at some point and the Wolf DNA is now spreading.
