My boys and I have a beginning tradition of catching blue crabs for their birthday parties.

Aged 3 and 5


Aged 6 and 4



I think getting kids involved in the outdoors at an early age is important, and crabs are a fun way for them to get started. Lots of folks just boil them whole, but I clean them. If you've never cleaned a crab, check it out: http://wp.me/p3bCKM-5T

That is awesome, agreed about the outdoors with the kiddos! We made tge mistake of trying to bring a bunch of hermit crabs home last week. Didn't work out well at all.
