I'm currently reading Trigger Men by Hans Halberstadt. I've recently finished Roughneck Nine One and Sniper One. Not sure what I'll start this week.
Maybe the book by Michael Durant.

Lone Survivor was good too, but the story of Fearless is just amazing. Talk about overcoming a lot in life through faith!

Currently reading Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace Revisited. Just finished Happy, Happy, Happy and was pleasantly surprised. It was very good. Also recently read Proof of Heaven which was good also. Favorites ever though are Fearless ( best I've ever read) and American Sniper. Anyone started American Gun by Chris Kyle? Have you read Lone Survivor? Man I couldn't put that book down. I'd have to put that one along with American Sniper as my favorites, but plan to read Fearless after I finish Happy,Happy,Happy (got it for fathers day today) If you like Lone Survivor, you'll like his other book "Service." I just started on Lucifer's Hammer.

Yesterday, I finished Zane Gray’s Riders of the Purple Sage. I recall reading it in my youth, but at that age, Mormonism was an unknown. I just remembered the book as a good western novel. Recently, it was recommended to me as a study of the immorality of the early LDS Church in its treatment of its own women. It was an eye opener. We continue to see examples throughout our 21st century world of how thin the line is between theocracy and brutality.

I just finished 'The Last Battle by Stephen Harding' it's about the defense of Castle Itter during the last days of WWII. Castle Itter was a prison for French VIP's. After Hitler's suicide the SS guards fled and the castle was taken over by the French VIP's, some anti Nazi German troops, and a handful of Americans. They then had to defend the castle against a local SS unit wich was seeking to eliminate the French VIP's. The book was OK dragging a little where it set the scene explaining the rivalries amongst the French but was it was a good read. I actually think this could be a better movie.
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

Finished several books in the last few weeks. The Son by Phillip Meyer-Great multi-generational story of a Texas family from the 1840s to present day. Much of it takes place in the 1800s and early 1900s. The Day the Cowboys Quit by Elmer Kelton-Another very good Western. The Lost City of Z by David Grann-I was intrigued by the story of Percy Fawcett who disappeared in the Amazon in the 1920s while he was searching for a rumored Amazonian civilization, but I didn't enjoy the way the author wrote. The Prophet of Smoked Meats by Daniel Vaughn-Really good book about Texas Barbecue joints. I have followed his BBQ blog for a couple of years and this was just a comprehensive look at all the places he has visited in Texas (300+ BBQ joints). The Hit by David Baldacci-Another good book from one of my favorite crime/spy/thriller authors.

I am now at 40percent and can not put it down. About 8-10 years ago Grisham was my favorite author but I have given up on him now.

I am usually not a fan of "fantasy" novels, but I got hooked on the books after season 1 of the TV show. I didnt think The Hobbit was that great either. A Game of Thrones is 10X better than The Hobbit.
