Finally got my hands on a 716, for me! Its the 16in version. I sold the original optics to redneck_mesiah and used a Trijicon AccuPoint 2.5-10x56 for this one. Barely had time to get it mounted and to the range before dark, and only took silhouette targets no sight-in grids or anything like that. Really just wanted to send a few down range and get it close.

Fit and function is very good, as you'd expect from a Sig. It feed 12 AE FMJ's perfectly and then 10 Federal Classic blue box 150 gr soft points. It was dead on left and right when we fired the first shot, but had a good vertical adjustment to get it close. After 5 rounds it was hiting head shots consistently so I moved to another blank target, resting only on hard sand bags, and the shot this group of two:

Then this two shot group after a slight adjustment:

And then the last two rapid fire at the scoring chart on the target's upper left corner...

Now with some good ammo, a little practice, I think this is a winner...

I'm hoping to get time to lock it down in a vice or lead sled and see what it can really do

But now I need more PMAG LR25's....

Nice! I have been debating grabbing one, they seem like very nice guns.

Very nice. The 716 caught my attention a while back; but then I looked at an LMT and was smitten. Can anyone justify the $1000 extra for the LMT?!

I have the 716, 16" barrel as well. have similar results, w/ the above post, good groups for a semi w/ federal 150 gr ammo. however, i hunted w/ this gun last deer season and was not impressed w/ the 150 gr federal ammo, for the 1st time ever, i lost 3 deer due to the bullets not expanding as they should. i've got some reloads from dallasreloading w/ 165 gr, hopefully they will perform better. also trying to tweak some subsonic ammo to get a good fit as well. again a great gun, but get in the weight room if you're gonna lug it around all day hunting, it's not the lightest weapon system out there grin
anyone have any luck finding stable subsonic ammo to shoot w/ their 716?
