I'll never get any work done after finding the live cams on this site. Use to be a big ranch around Pearsall that had multiple cams you could control as well, but i think they sold a few years back.

Have used Record Rack for years, and have preferred it over Antler Max. Also use a protein made by Micobe Feed in Hamilton. But my real preferance is Micobe Feed's STAMPEDE - it is a soybean & corn mix. Works well in gravity feeders and spin cast, never any problems with moisture.

We use 16% protein pellets from Bryant Grain in Aledo and all I can tell you is my deer love it. We run six 300 lb. Boss Buck gravity feeders and we have gone thru 300 lbs. of protein every week out of each one since the beginning of March. Stupidly expensive but it sure keeps the deer and especially the bucks in our area. I have to be honest with you though, other than holding the deer in the vicinity, I am not sure if we have really recognized any significant gain in antler development over the last four years

i'd just go to whatever feed store is most convenient for you and see what they've got. generally speaking higher protein content is better. 20% i think is the highest it commonly goes at least. we've used all kinds. the deer ate them all.
we feed a 20% pellet. i forget now what its called, but its the only 20% pellet our feed dealer carries.

MICOBE FEED is on the west side of HWY 36 south.Sorry...can't help with the claim, those are done at the Regional Office and I'm at the Medical Campus. I do know that the VARO is and has been under a lot a pressure to speed up their processing - the Waco VARO is currently processing more claims than any other regional office in the country right now.

Most native browse can provide 16% or close to that protein content, you should try a higher protein content.

If you are any where near Graham, FMC feed mill sells their own protein called F-20 (I think). The deer in our area really likes it.

according to the whitetail biologist we have talked too, 20% is too high on a consistent basis and actually stresses the deer. Not sure about natural browse being all that high in protein but then again I just shoot deer I don't over analyize them. All I know is at 300 lbs a week they sure seem to like it

I will add this IME deer will eat a lot more of 16% protein than 20% under the same conditions on the same ranch. I have never fed any protein to deer that was not at least 20%. I feed year round also and control deer numbers. If you are feeding 50% or more of the deers daily diet year round, then you will need the 20% to have a much higher fiber content than the normal 20% pasture feeds. If you are feeding closer to 100% of the deers diet then you will need a lower protein %, like 16-17%. What you are doing with feed is looking to keep their average daily intake as close to or above 16% for a daily value as you can.
