Well I'd say that carries some weight coming from a fellow guide. Do you hunt with them often?

Blackfoot is the only one I have hunted with. They have scouts who travel every morning and evening for 3-4 hours. This makes a huge difference in your hunt keeping you where the birds want to be.
I reccomend all my clients who are looking to put the smack down on the geese to them!
I beleive they harvested 3,000 geese last season

Hard to vote, it would depend on what part of Texas you want to hunt.

I was actually looking at Blackland Outfitters, but now that I'm browsing Blackfoot, their website is pretty intriguing. The rest of those guides contacted me after I posted in the guides section. I guess Blackfoot doesn't have or need a presence in the forums!

We're open to location - we will follow the birds! Hunters will be coming from DFW, Austin, and maybe Houston.

Probably the biggest factor if you're talking about goose guides with Katy guys in the mix is what's up with the rice. No water= no rice, you should make some calls to them to find out the truth.

Big factor here...what kind of geese are you going after? If its snows then youre gonna need some rice. Most of it is in Garwood. Need to call third coast and coastal and ask em what they got.

Bill Sherrill Guide Service in Wharton.
I have been hunting with him 3 weekends / yr for 14 yrs
Always a ton of birds, but it is goose hunting you can never predict weather.
But he always has water and the waterfowl hunting is beyound beliefe

If you,re looking at snow and specks on the prairies then Bay Prairie Outfitters and Avian Skies sould be on the list also. Both top notch.

Another vote for Bay Prairie. I've hunted with them 3 times, all good hunts. yesterday my dog chewed up my Bay Prairie t-shirt. Guess I'll have to go back and buy another.

Third coast outfitters, Run&Gun outfitters and Waterfowl Game Bird Outfitters. I have hunted with all and had a great hunt each time.

Thanks for all of the great input everyone! It was a tough decision - there were several great guides to choose from!
We have decided to hunt with Ranger Creek this year. I'll try to remember to post details about our hunt for anyone who cares to see the result.
Thanks for all of your help!

I have hunted 4 years in a row with blackfoot and have shot limits every time. Guides are well seasoned and start hunting early in the year up north. Until season starts in Texas
