That's the way both my granddaddies taught me. When there's two people one holds the tail and one the legs and pull like a tug-o-war.

Thats pretty slick. I basically do the same thing except we have squirrel skinning tree with two nails. I hang the squirrels back legs on the nails, cut the tail bone, and skin.

How do skin a booger?

I skin squirrels the same way and can go from dead to cooler in about a minute. When I was a kid we killed a few and was struggling to skin em and my buddies grandma said all you gotta do is take off his shirt then take off his pants, then she showed us this way.

2X4 on the back porch post, nails driven in an inch or so, heads clipped off. When you are by yourself, slit the hind feet, hang carcases belly to post and start at the tail. I was taught to pull the hair off at the root of the tail before starting the cut thru the tail.

Nothing cleans easier than squirrel, unless BillyBob has a secret booger skinning technique. Couple fried squirrels, little bit of red-eye gravy and a couple biscuits. Lunch like only Granny could make, and she never said no when I came up to her door with a sack of them.

i havnt eaten squirrel in many many years, but i keep a healthy population around of squirrels, rabbits, coons, possums and deer and pigs on my land..i figure between the well, pond, garden, and chickens one could get by a while if people couldn't go to Walmart for a while..
