I never field dress my deer. I hang them, skin them and then gut them. I dont like hair and dirt getting on the meat.

I don't gut em anymore. But when I did, I would take them away from where I hunt and gut em in the middle of a field so I could shoot coyotes later. -cK

Since it's usually warm, I like to open 'em up and let them start cooling ASAP. Plus, they are lighter to drag and load onto the truck.
