Well i get bored in the middle of the week when im not working so i headed up to see Robert and Moro and Eight point ranch this week. He told me he had a gemsbok with a bent horn that would be in the mid to high 30" range that needed to go and a big bodied bull elk with some trashy horns he wanted shot. Being the good guy I am I headed that way to take care of buisness I took the gemsbok with my ruger redhawk 44 mag pistol open sights through both shoulders and destroyed both lungs and heart with one shot and took the elk with the trusty 300 weatherby at about 170 yards on a brisk walk. Guess whats for dinner tomorrow night after i get all this cut up this evening. Want to thank the guys out there once again and cant wait to shoot my eland in the spring after WT season is past. Here is a couple crummy cell phone pics for yall to enjoy.

congrats on an awesome hunt. I know I am in the minority, but I LOVE animals like that. When you take a trophy there is always the chance to take a bigger one that scores better. Those have character. I would mount them both, just an oppinion and you know what they say about those wink

What time is dinner?!?! I gotta go see Robert soon. Haven't seen him in a couple years. Normally we go shoot 4-5 critters to fill the freezer. Last time, my neighbor shot a stag that looked your elk.. all jacked up, spike on one side and few on the other.

I think you should bring some by 3fingers in October when I'm down that way.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.
