I'm assuming your 'better half' is your wife? I got the Diamond razor edge, think it's set at 50# now, but started out around 40#. I like it, female friendly, great on piggies and turkey, but no deer with it yet. Best thing is let her try several that she might like, to get a feel for what she wants.

My wife shoots a Hoyt Trykon Sport and my 14 yr. old daughter is shooting a Hoyt Ruckus. My 12 yr old son is shooting the Edge. They are all great shooting bows. The edge is not as consistent as the Ruckus and requires a little more finesse. The Ruckus is a little more forgiving. All of them shoot great.

Mathews Z7 Bow for Whitetail and Hogs Remington R-15 .223 REM for predators I also like to "hunt" sporting clays with my Benelli SuperSport!

Diamond Razor is a good starting bow for fairly cheap. My wife shot one for 2 years. When she decided she liked it enough I got her the Mathews Jewel, which is very nice!

no honestly hunting I want here there because she cooks and cleans the ranch house... Pancakes and eggs beats pop-tarts all day every day.
I'm mainily getting the bow so she can shoot 3d with me and doesn't just have to walk around or sit at home when I go. she does actually like to hunt, the buck she killed last year with a rifle is way bigger than any I have had an opportunity to take...

I went to the deer lease with my husband for years and did the cooking and cleaning. Then 7 years ago I decided I would give hunting a try and the rest is history! I got a Razor's Edge 2 years ago and absolutely love it! Of course, now our hunting expenses are double what they once were but the memories we make each hunting season are priceless!
