I was at Wally World earlier this morning and no one was in line like they usually are for ammo and just looked through the counter for chuckles and grins and they had about 20 boxed of the new .17 Win Super Mag ammo! I've been trying to get one of the Savage B-Mags in this new caliber and thought what the heck go for it! 3 boxes of the 25 gr. polymer tips was like $42. Not as bad as I expected it to be. That's .28¢ a round not too shabby! Just wanting some opinions guys.

Not ammo, but I have bought optics and accessories for guns I didn't own.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

No. But I won a Berger certificate, at a rifle match, for 300 bullets of my choice. I submitted for 300 180gr 7mm VLD Hunting, and I didn't even have the barrel yet. I also bought brass, powder, and primers before the rifle was put together.

Yessir, I did this morning. I picked up some Nosler Partitions for my T3 7mm-08 and I won't have the rifle for another 2 months. I'm buying about a box per week of cartriges for deer season. Then when the rifle comes in, I'll be testing each cartridge to see what the rifle likes best. The losers will become coyote ammo.

Kind of....like FJG, I bought all the stuff to have a 6.5x47 built. At the last minute I changed my mind and sold it all. Fortunately, I came out of it without losing to much money.

Before,I Probably would not have worried about it unless I stumbled on a good deal. After everything that has happened in the last year I ended up buying 200 rounds of 9mm and 80 rounds of .308 without having a firearm that shot either. I have the .308 rifle now, but still have not purchased 9mm. My buddies gave me a hard time about hoarding, but really I just can't stand to have a firearm with no ammo, and not knowing when I would have a chance to shoot a new firearm.

She took 2 deer and 2 pigs with it last season. No bullets recover and nice exits. All animals DRT but that's more shot placement than bullet performance.

Reminds me of when I was a kid. I had Zelda before I ever had a Nintendo. Just played it on my friend's system before I got one.

Walmart seems to consistently have the best prices on ammo. WHEN I brave Wally World, I will often buy a box of "somethin". Never can have too much

I've done it. Not proud of it, and probably not the best idea, but I can imagine it will happen again at some point knowing how I operate.
