I have this old shotgun, that my dad passed on to me. He is gone and I dont have any history on it. It is rust pitted a little from sitiing in a closet in a house with evap cooling. About 10 years ago, I put a firing pin in because it would fail to fire sometimes. It now works great and I use it from time to time bird hunting. Since I am among so many experts I thought I would ask. What is it worth and how old is it? It is a springfeild J stevens arms company. The only #'s That I find are on the right side and it is 5100. I have never seen one like this at any gun show. This gun is not for sell. I just want some info.

I know mine is not worth even close to that. I was really hoping someone could give me an age on this thing?

Found this one on another link:

He's asking @ $300.00 for his, but how much is saying "Son, this is your Granddaddy's side by side..." worth? I don't know, but it sure ain't $300. (I know you already know that... just agreeing with you).
