Is there something I can use in a hog trap that won't attract raccoons? Those dang things keep tripping it and then escape out the side or top (hog paneling). I have been baiting the trap with regular deer corn, but appartently the coons show up before the hogs.....I really dont have time to sit out there all night with a .17 but I might have to...any ideas?

Bury the corn. The hogs will smell it and root it up.

Try a different trap door, the type that animals can push in through but not exit.

Coons can come and go and hogs will stick around for dinner....

I might catch some heat over this. But go to www.texasboars.com, click on tatics/tips, and choose tips/tatics.

I use a root door. The raccoons eat for free, hogs don't.
