because due to my fear of snakes including lizards with short legs that kinda look like snakes I have trained myself like a ninja when it comes to noticing them

Copperheads! I have stepped on or over many of those rascles in the past year alone. Lucky enough to have had only 1 strike this past year. Took it to the shin of my snake boots at last seasons dove hunt.

I almost stepped on a coral snake Saturday morning leaving my deer stand. I messed with it for a little bit, and it never showed any aggression.

Crap!

Almost make you wounder, how many have you missed just walking through the woods. That sucker is hidden.

Last year after lowering my bow to the ground with a string and climbing down, i went to reach for the bow and a big ol copperhead struck at me and missed by a hair! I had lowered it down right on top of that snake and he never moved till i reached for the bow. Guess he sensed the body heat, either way it scared the crap outta me!

My cousin got bit by one on Aug. 31 of this year. His ankle still hurts him.

I guess that is what happens when you check your feeder at night wearing flip flops.

I spotted it pretty quickly, but then again I was told to look for it. If I had been just strolling through those woods, I doubt I would have seen it if it didn't move first.

The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

That is some scarry stuff. You know how many times I have sat in arias just like that bow hunting.

Glad you saw him!

The question is, did you kill him?

We have enough youth. How about a fountain of "smart"?

I barely saw it even with the circle, but I seem to have a sixth sense for them in real life. My grandfather could smell a copperhead.

One of the most vivid colored snakes. Ive captured more than I can count and stepped over a few myself. Cool pic.

Helo, I've never encountered a coral in the wild but then again I dont live in an area where they are native. Get a pick next time if you dont mind.

Be careful saying you have captured a snake, Skinner will be on here in a few and tell you how un-ethical it is.

Cool pic though.

I had never seen one before I moved here, but have seen 3 in the 2 years I lived here. I never have a camera handy, but the next one I see I will catch and bring home to get a pic of it.

I hate copperheads. I never see them until they are too close.

I grew up catching snakes and just about anything in the woods. There are a few that I've never laid eyes on including the coral. One of these days I'll find one. I'm still looking for the praire kingsnake just have for the kids. Everytime I find one he's on the road rather flat.
