Don't keep a gun in my truck but I do have a Marlin .22mag in my Ranger 365 days a year, about 8 months out of the year I will have Remington .223 with it.

I'm in the process of building one of these now in .300blackout. For just this use. Tired of yotes and pigs getting gone before I can get the gun out the window.

I enjoyed building mine. Made me want to build more.

Getting some parts has been a little interesting but it's going to work out.

Which truck?

Lost a nice 10/22 one time because I left it in the truck, so I don't do that anymore. If I have a rifle with me it's either a Marlin 25 or my AR.

Savage Hog Hunter 308. Short barrel makes it easy to get in and out the window, light and easy to carry when walking, iron sights, and plenty of pop for deer,hogs, yotes or whatever needs to die!

Model 94 30-30. It has wear marks on it from how many miles it has sat wedged between the passenger seat and the console. Its beat up and ugly as all get out but it always goes bang and it will kill anything I run across if I do my part.

I am thinking of getting a truck gun made "customized" for myself, I like my marlin 30-30, and 44mag but I would really like to get a lever action custom built as my designated truck/brush gun. I am thinking of getting one at a pawn shop that maybe needs a little work have a gunsmith cut the barrel down to a trapper length barrel which Is somewhere around 16". Have the stock redone or even having the stock applied with a black bed liner type coating, I would also like to either have the barrel re blued or having it done also in a cerakote in either on OD green or a burnt bronze. I have seen some done grizzly customs guns or wild west guns, I would really like to have a gun sent to them to get worked on for me but I don't think I have the cash to send them into a place like that just yet, but maybe I can find a good local gunsmith that can do the basics for a reasonable price. I know the above mentioned is not for everyone and many people would frown upon doing that to a levergun but that would be my Ideal truck. Thanks for reading and for sharing what your truck gun is. Marlin 336W 30-30....... It is A real Marlin..... Before the freedom group bought them out. She is a beauty I must say. Wish she was a little smaller though, I have a single cab Toyota Tacoma and it is a tight squeeze.
