I am wanting to harvest a number of deer off our place. These are typical Hill Country deer that have not been on a high protein diet. That being said there are not any what some would call trophy bucks. We have an excess of bucks, probably more than does.Bucks with 8 or more points will be $750. Those with less will be $100 per point, such as spike $200, four point $400 and so on. These will be one day hunts and there will be no extra charges. These are rifle only hunts. I also want to take a limited number of does at $100.

It is a good deal. I saw quite a few deer last weekend while axis hunting with Don and like he said, more were bucks than were doe. I'm going back for no other reason than I don't see numbers of deer like that where I hunt and my son and I will have a good time. Oh, and if I can get a nice dark horned 8 or better that would look nice on the wall - that's just gravy.

Thats a great deal. How many acres are you hunting and how many hunters are you trying to book?

Total about 515 acres. I want to take off about 6-8 does. There are probably 20 bucks from spikes up to 8 or more points. I would like to take at least 10 bucks. I don't know if that is possible because everyone wants at least a 8 pointer.

Could not get closer for the 2nd picture. The bucks have changed their habits a lot the last few days. Before they were staying together. Now they are splitting up and your seeing them in areas that they were not in earlier. These are not the biggest bucks that are here. Did not see any this morning. Maybe tomorrow.

Saw a few nice ones when I was there last weekend - definitely 2 or 3 nice enough that I'd want to put them on the wall. Like Don indicated they were in groups of 4-6 or more last weekend.

Thanks for the good time again Don. He isn't a monster but I had fun. There was a wider buck in the bunch this morning but I liked the height on this one and just the way he looked - what can I say, I've never shot a crab claw before, I think they're kinda neat. He had a pretty thick neck and rounded face that doesnt' show so much in the photos - along with a belly so he wan't a real young buck.

Like I said, no monster but he is my first hill country buck and I like him.

There were deer infront of me all morning from before light until I shot him around 9am. Also turkey. More bucks than does - saw several 5's, 6's, and 7's and at least 3 8's. As I said one of the 8's was at leat 14 on the width but he didn't have much mass or height. He (along with alot of them I saw) were younger bucks. I figured around 2.5 years. This one I figured was 3.5-4 (didn't count teeth though). I also saw some spikes, does, and one or two big 6's. Last time I was there I saw a really nice 8 but I didn't see him this morning. I probably should have waited, but like I said I kinda liked this one.

There were never less than 8 deer at the feeder and sometimes as many as 12. Combined with the turkey and a 'coon it was a pretty busy morning. I don't get to see so much activity the entire year where I hunt in Young County.

Thanks again Don.

Earl

Don and Clint... Thanks for the memory of a life time...

I took my son to hunt with Don and Clint,, we had animals in front of us from before first shooting light until my son took his first WT every @ about 9:00 AM on Sat. What a great day we had,,, and Clint was very helpful and actually moved use once during the hunt to get us a shot at the deer we were after... My son is hooked, he already wants to go back,,, and I agree with him, I have there numbers in my phone and I am already looking at the calendar to make another trip to see them this season hopefully... Like the saying Mastercard will do somethings, but the first pump from your son after his first deer goes down, priceless... Thanks for a great hunt and memory of a life time. I have a pic, just not sure how to post,,, I will read up on it, and see if I can get it to work...

Thx Don nad Clint for letting come to your ranch, it was a great time...
