Great.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

I recognize that tree.. Not far from Ovilla Rd & Westmoreland.. We use to hear them when I was growing up down there, haven't seen one in forever.. Great to see!

That is a great sign. I sure hope that we all have a great hunting year.

Think positive!!!!!

I saw one in Ferris (just east of Ovilla) a few years ago. I got to asking around and a big rancher there buys a bunch every year and lets them loose to hunt. So mine was probably just an escapee. Bad thing is the escapees wont reproduce, other wise I would be setting some free just for the fun of letting my daugher raise and release them.

I don't think pen-raised birds are quite this size yet and I don't know of anyone in the area raising them.
...and they will reproduce. We release birds every year on our farm near Ennis. I've seen chicks with their mama.

If he was an escapee, he's survived since last fall.

I believe this to be true.
