Set out the pipes I built to see what came in, took a few days but bingo, they are there.

I agree, trying to get a pattern from them, most of my pics are around 1 to 4 am, except the first time at 9:30. Could be a late night. I am just happy the pipes worked, they emptied both of them.

Patterning hogs can be a challenging affair. I have had the best luck w/pig pipes in tandem with automatic corn feeders. The feeder gets'em in every night and the pig pipe makes stay longer.

Put you a bell on the end of your pipe and when you get ready to hunt just take a bell with you and start ringing it and they will come. It works.

I built some based on a blueprint I found online. Instead of a false cavity like the guy said he added, I just put some large rocks in with the corn. They say it keeps them rolling it longer thinking the rocks are corn.

They cost more than I expected but I shopped @ Home Depot and got the pipe from a local yard. Ended up with 4" sewer pipe.

I set one out about a month ago but have not been able to get back over to that place and see what happened.

It had some rank corn in it.
It was fun building them.

I am sure I went over board on my price but it wasnt terrible, I think with all the parts it equated out to around 40 a piece , the cable that I used was the most expensive part but I have enough cable for around 5 of them.

Do NOT skimp on the swivel. I did and the hogs broke it....I still haven't found that darn tube.

I put a good strong swivel on it, the only thing I did not know if it would work but so far so good, I used the U bolt type and it seems to be holding.

I built two of these last year and it took them a couple of weeks to figure them out but when they did it was like kids at legoland they were all over them. Best way to make a little corn last!

I'll vouch for this. I do this and it DOES work. Doesn't look like you are having any problems bringing em in though.

Not sure about the plans. I bought a few from Big Will here on the forums. They are solid and fairly priced. You cannot build them yourself for much less.

That's a good link there Hillbilly. I like how they use the gravel as a noise maker. Personally, I would still speak to Big Will if you are anywhere in the DFW area as the materials listed would cost you approximately the same as he sells the completed pipes for.

Hummm they might be as good but the ones I make work and are cheaper because I reuse stuff I've got around the shop for the most part, seeing how I can make and use these with just one hand I'll stay with my home made pipes

Any body else use hog stakes???????? you want read much about them because they were used by outlaw hunters years ago ( when a man hunted to eat).
