what grain/brand of ammo do you recommend for hitting a white tail in the vitals at about 50yds.

At 50 yards just about any of them will work.
The most accurate I have found for my 243 are the 85 grain PMC serria Gamekings. I can't kind them any more so I switched to the Federal with Barnes TSX 85 grains and have been very pleased. I also heard good things about the Fusion.

At that range, on a broadside lung shot...I agree..almost anything works. Just make sure it's broadside into the lungs. If it's quartering, you need a better bullet.

If that was the only criteria I would buy the cheapest ammo I could find. Anything will do the job.

No question 85 gr TSX, if you dont load you can buy it in Federal premium ammunition, Daughter shoots factory loads, and I order them from Midway.

HA! I thought I was the only person on here who used PMC!
