I have always wanted to hunt/harvest a mature trophy axis. Recently after a hunt cancelation I jumped on the opportunity to go to Double Arrow Bowhunting. My wife and I arrived this evening at about 7 pm. Finding the ranch house was a breeze and the quality of animals seen from the road already have my confidence up. I look forward to getting in the stand in the morning. Curtis has my first couple sits scouted out so ill be ready. I am going to be Bowhunting, but with a ready rifle. Being my first axis, I just want to get a trophy on the ground. I have bowhunted them several times with no success so I have both options this weekend. I look forward to taking yall along.

Kill a good one! Curtis is a stand up guy. Might go visit him for a big fallow in the near future.

He's in the stand on the front field this morning. Alfalfa was put out last night and lots of game were in the area when we drove in. A few nice bucks there by that stand and will be hunting it until about 9 am.

We seen a good bit of bucks. Its hot and they are bedded down now. We will try aroun 4:30 to go scout and see whats up.

Guys, Curtis has a monster freezer and he barely fit. Had to stack stuff on top for the door to seal. Haha. Pumped about my first axis.
