I was reading a few reviews on rifles and someone said something like "If I lost my guns in a fire, I would go out and buy X tomorrow..."
Anyway, it made me think of this question. If there was a fire, and you lost your gun collection, what would you go out and buy/replace first?
I think I'd say the Rem 700 BDL I inherited from my grandfather. The sentimental value wouldn't be there, but the rifle would!

X2...Then I would buy a Ruger M77 stainless .270win with a Hogue stock and 3.5-10x40 VariX III; not the fanciest gun I own but damn sure the best.

A used Heritage Rough Rider. Just to have something. If every firearm goes up in flames, then chances are, your home is gone as well.

I'd get another Tikka T3 Hunter in 25/06, but top it with something nicer than the Nikon 4.5-14x40 that's on it now, probably a VXIII in the same power range

I'd be buying some sweet custom rigs off the contents policy.

Depends on what kind of insurance money I get from 1972 mobile home.
Probably an .22 rifle, handgun, and a .270 rifle next step up from my first and only deer rifle which is a Rem 770.

For that kind of money, 2700.00 I would look to buy a Wilson, Baer or Ed Brown. http://www.lesbaer.com/Hemi572.htmlMy short list would be a Sig 226 9mm, Ruger 22 pistol, Spike's, BCM or DD AR, Beretta semi-auto shotgun 20ga and a Tikka in 6.5x55SE.

Had a chance to buy a used Brown special forces for about 500 more than what I paid for my TRP....nah. Shane
