My future father-in-law has a Streamlight Strion LED HP (275 lumens) that he has for everyday uses and is his flashlight of choice. What do yall think about the Streamlight flashlights? Why or why wouldnt this be a good light for hunting with? Could i wrap it with green or red celophane for night hunting? I am looking for a good all around light and am weary about buying something before trying it out. I know this topic is beat in the dirt time and time again but I havent heard much about the Streamlights. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Here is the site for that light:

I have owned a couple different Streamlights. I used them in a brutal environment at work: shock loads, drops from over 8ft high, chemicals, them getting run over by large trucks, etc.
Only problem ever experienced was a dim LED in a light. The factory took care of my problem (new LED head assembly) under the lifetime warranty. If you buy from a reputable dealer, usually there are no problems shipping back and forth. I always save the packaging and receipt.

Some Streamlights shut off when dropped or hit. This is great for controlling stray light beams, but it does not help much if you drop it in the dark without another light to find the first one.

Streamlight makes good lights IMO. I accidentally sent my ProTac-1L through the washing machine AND dryer. Found it while folding clothes, tried turning it on, nothing. Popped in a fresh battery, and it lit up light a champ.

I've used Streamlights for about 15 yrs. I have used the stinger for the last 12. I love mine. It is a conventional bulb. It's rolled off of 2 story houses, knocked off ladders, and dropped about 1,000 times and its still going strong. With the lifetime parts warranty, I've never had to pay for new seals, waterproof switch covers, or charger plugs. I paid $125 for it and it came with a double car charger and a wall charger, and 2 rechargeable battery packs. When I was buying some DRT ammo today, I noticed they had them on sale locally for $92.

I have used the stingers for 12yrs. My first one still works like new. I now also have 2 of the LEDs and love them even more.
I am about to get the strion as well. A coworker has had one for about 3yrs and its still going strong. I don't know anyone as hard on equipment as him.

Also there is a reason more than 98% of LEOs use streamlight

Thanks for the input guys. I have only heard good things about streamlight. Have any of you used them to hunt hogs or yotes? Any idea how they compare to other lights with white lenses.

I take mine everytime I go hunting. They have a nice focused beam and can easily light up stuff 300yds away.

They also calm the nerves when walkin on those moonless nights.

You can get the stinger battery packs at academy for about $20. I will usually carry 2 extras with me.

I'm looking at the strion for compact size. I carry enough gear while hiking around so I like to save weight and size when I can.

I have a couple of TLR-1's that I use on my pistol and rifle. I've wanted to check out the TLR-1 HP. It is supposed to have more a long beam. They also have that model that uses a green LED. I've been very happy with my streamlight flashlights.

I have a TLR-1HP can make 300+ yard shots no problem. I have a protact on my ak47 for hogs and a tlr-1 on my .22 for coons and rabbits. I love my streamlights!

I use the Polytac LED lights on yotes, doesn't seem to bother them with the white light. Never tried on hogs cause I figger it'll spook em, I use NV on them.

The Polytac doesn't have rechargeable batts, but the CR123's last a long time in them, and they are dang near impossible to break.
