I am looking to buy a new bow. I don't have the $ to go top end, but am looking at the $ 500.00 price range. Any advise on a good mid-range setup will be appreciated. I have shot all the high end bows and really liked the BowTech General, but just can't let go of that much cash and not loose the rest in a divorce!!!!

Not to be pushy, but I just put this up for sale. I am waiting on payment to determine if it is sold or not. Just something to think about.

After eating Payne's sausage I don't know if I can go back to the regular store bought stuff.

You should be able to visit any decent Pro-shop and get fitted for everything you need for $500.00.

Just to give you an idea check out basspro's deal on a PSE bow:

http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores...014000_400-14-2

You then want to get a dozen quality arrows; the type you buy will be determined by the poundage bow and your draw length. Which is why you may want to visit a pro shop.

Next you need to get broadheads. I like the G5:

http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores...014000_400-14-7

You get field points that match the grain of broad head you're shooting.

Next you'll want a release; more of a personal prefrence, but go look:

http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores...00000_400014000

If you have some place to shoot, you'll want your own target. And if you donn't have some place to shoot, you should look at a quality case.

So, let recap:

Bow $359.00
Arrows $65.00
Field Points $4.99
Broadheads $35.99
Release $25.00
Target $19.00
Case $40.00

A little over $500 but you have almost everything you need. The Mathews is a nice bow, and has a lot, but you need to know the draw and poundage.

Goodluck

Go buy one off of Archery Talk. Tnere are pages and pages of bows for sale there everyday. I have bought my last 5 or 6 bows off of archery talk and got a great deal on everyone of them.

I think you can get a Diamond bow all set up for that kind of money, maybe a little more. It's a good bow.

Diamond Liberty or Justice complete set-up minus arrows and release will be right at $500 if not a little under.
