I'm not a Slick Trick rep or anything like that. I work in the oil business. But, I've been using slick tricks for 3 years now and I took both a Ram and an Ibex hybrid goat this last weekend, both with slick trick 125's, and man are they deadly!

In both cases I got clean pass thrus. One at 32 yards, the other at 40 yards. The holes they made were vicious. Since it's a 4 blade broadhead, it has a large cutting area. They market them as making a "bullet hole" and I can attest to that. They shoot just like field points...at least for me.

I'm impressed. I've now taken 10 or so animals with slick tricks, the biggest being a big Gemsbok in S. Africa

I remain impressed with them.

For the hunt this last weekend for the Ram and Goat, I used the standard slick trick 125's. The 1" type. For my trip to Africa back in 2010, when I first started using the slick tricks, I took the Magnum 1-1/8th 125's.

Why did you switch from the Magnum to the Standard? I’m wondering because I shot the Magnums and besides the cutting size I don’t know much of the difference between the Slick Trick heads

No reason really. I just happened to have them. I was hunting smaller game this last weekend, so I just grabbed the standard ones to take along with me. They are essentially the same broadhead. They shoot the same. Fly the same. etc. I bought the bigger ones for Africa but either would have worked just fine.

Not sure why I ended up with the 1" size. Maybe they were on sale or something. I don't recall.

Do the Slick tricks perform as stated (like a field point)?

had the chance to test one out on a pig from about 25 yards, would have been my first bow kill, and the arrow hit the fence around my feeder and disintegrated....they will throw some sparks too!

made the mistake of shooting one into my field tip target from 20 yards to see how they flew, right through the bullseye, right through the target, and buried to the arrow in my wood fence. so i lost two BH's on my first two shots. dumb.

Yes ! You still might have to adjust your sight to Point of impact but then you will be fine.
