You are joking right? Look about 8 threads down and you have 10 pages worth of your question. Plus you don't need a sidearm in Texas , only in a Land Rover

My trusty Remington 30-06 will take care of anything that comes near me. I have a Black Panther roaming my hunting lease right now. Going to try to put it to sleep this month before the deer start moving.

I was thinking about getting one of the BOND Snake slayers. It looks small enough to fit in the small of your back and not be to cumbersome. Have you looked at those at all Maggie?

Opps what's that pesky rule out personal attacks? Again, except in certain situations I really question the need for sidearms at a deer lease. The pistol probably poses more of a risk to you than anything you'd see or face out there. BTW the single biggest risk for snake bite is what? Alcohol. The majority of snake bites involve alcohol, just like the majority of fatal motor vehicle accidents.

An old 3 screw, 7 1/2 inch Black Hawk chambered in 30 carbine. I also carry a Loaded Springfield.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

That's an interesting combination. I don't think they make that Blackhawk in that chambering anymore. Are we talking an O3 Springfield? Would you care to elaborate?

A loaded Springfield is a model, of 1911 based 45's, they produce.. Good shooting pistol.

Sweet pistol. BTW I haven't found a single incident of an armed robbery or homicide on a Texas deer lease within recent memory. In addition I can't find a single incident of a pig/hog attack within the last few years.

I've never seen the need to carry a handgun on my person while hunting, unless I'm hunting strictly with a hand gun. The 45 stays in the console of the truck, the 30 sit’s in the seat. My 17 and 243 ride in the passenger side. Plus a couple of fishing rods, in the back seat. These are the tools i take to work, every day. I also carry an HP laptop, just to make it look like I'm doing something.

That's why I never share my beer with rattlesnakes. You never know what they'll do when they get liquored up.

I carry a pistol while bow hunting. Mainly because sometimes I don't feel like wasting a $20 broadhead on a hog...
Or in other cases, THWACK... BANG BANG BANG BANG!!!!

Did you ever think that most of these incidents don't get reported to TPWD... If you think that they don't happen, try getting out in the field a few times...
