My father gave me a remmy 1100 trap 10 years ago. today I finally got around to shooting it and it wont eject the hulls from the chamber. I could see the bolt jump back about half way when I shot it so I cleaned out the two gas ports in the barrel and un-stuck the gas cylinder spring. also put in a new barrel seal O-ring and the dog still wont eject the hulls. The action bars and sleeve are nice and clean so now what?

i've got the same gun and mine does the exact same thing. i cleaned it real good and it worked for awhile, but then it quit ejecting again. I've been told that the winchester shells, which i was using are the reason. they said i needed to get shells that had ________? i think they said brass, but i'm not sure!

I believe I've found my problem. The piston/piston seal assembly (PART # 74A) is MISSING, GONE, NOT THERE! The good news is Midway has the set for $15. and I want to try out some remington 100 grainers in the Weatherby 270 win too,, so its all good. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=140912&t=11082005http://www.remington.com/pdfs/om/om_11001187.pdfhttp://remington.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/re...amp;p_topview=1Fisher, you might want to replace your 1100 piston seal assembly too. could be your problem,,,?

the shells you shoot may cause problems also, I have found that some of the Walmart cheapies cause ejection problems.

9 out of 10 times, FTE issues with the 1100's are because of either dirty gas assemblies, or worn or missing seals, just as 4x4 discovered. This, combined with some of the $2.99/box el cheapo shells will give you grief on the range or out in the field!
