I have not had time to research the title to see whether or not is is proven genetics or dumb luck to shoot a multiple bearded beard but thru my own personal opinion I am going to say it is def. genetics. I hunted a ranch a few years ago in Aspermont TX and 3 birds with 4 beards each were taken off of 100 acres and this year we took 3 birds with double beards off of 160 acres and saw one with 4 beards on the same place. Somebody please fill me in on your thoughts as I am coming to the conclusion in order to shoot a high up record book rio you have to find a place with the right genetics!?!?!?! Your thoughts -go......

the above pic came from the bird on the right.

double longbeard over 15" total

came from Brians bird that I went back and found later that day after rewatching the video.

Ramseys double longbeard first spring turkey ever.

that came from this bird.

Then of course there was this guy hanging out around the corner right after Brian left. Four beards suspected to be over 30"s total and could possibly be top 50 all time in the books. Has been seen on the 160 acres and yes didn't get big from being stupid and he is alive as far as we know.

Actually if we are going to name him it will be quadro' rope. I have close up pic's of him from a straight on angle where you can see his two more beards on top. He has 4 total and I am betting the two long ones to be atleast ten and the two on top to be 5+ each putting him over 30" for sure but like I said we will prob. never know after all the hook's those thing's gave us this year. I just found out the other day that turkeys can swim too! What can't those things do dang.

Ramsey: You better believe it. I am fixing to be having every other weekend off and I am going to try to acquire more land in the area between me and the landowner I'm sure we will come up with something. As of right now if we don't find more land then we are booked for next season between you and Brian. I'm sure we will though.

We will def. be very prepared next season as ya'll know this season was kinda rushed setting up the hunts and all. We are already talking about a chufa plot and I will def. have a few nice popup blinds in play.

Half the birds we shoot in Montague have double beards so seems genetic.

I had a chance to shoot one with 5 beards while deer hunting. I still have an old VHS vid of that bird somewhere. Still kicking myself for not killing him!
