We need 4 hunters to join 2 more for 6 total on 1200 acres. Property has heavy cover all over and plenty of water with 8 ponds, 3 of which are new and very deep.

Current hunters include myself (53) and my 16 year old son. We are looking for conscientious hunters that will target deer 5 years old and up. Although we won't complain if someone shoots their biggest buck ever regardless. We are family oriented and fun loving and can be counted upon to share a few beers (not with my son) or maybe break out the Whiskey when it gets cold! Just want to find similar folks. It is a 5 deer county no more than one good buck and/or one (spike one or both sides) buck county and everyone hunts off of their own tags/lease spot. I am paying for two spots for my son and I and the lease owner expects the same going forward.

We have electric and water and we pay for it as a group. No cabin, so bring your own RV.

First step telephone discussion with me, second step face to face meeting, maybe see the lease at the same time, and third step meet with the lease owner. He just wants a group that will get along and follow the rules.

Last year was our first year. 2 of us were here due to their long time lease being burned in the wildfires and they are now gone, while my brother in law dropped out due to his son traveling too far from Sam Houston State and financial considerations.

Yes, I have at least one person coming to look at it after my honeymoon but its not spoken for yet!

So if I am reading this right, your saying that no guests are allowed and kids cant hunt off my tags? Kids have to pay for their own spot? Bow hunting allowed?

300, where are you seeing no guests, I see where he says the deer are shot off paying hunter's tags. I think he's indicating that he's paid for himself and his teenage son so they both shoot of their respective tags. Don't think it has to be that way but only the father or son would get a trophy buck otherwise.

DQ,I think your right again. I was just assuming and asking due to him paying for 2 spots, he and his 16 yr old son, and the landowner wants this going forward. I am probably totally misunderstanding it. Just trying to clarify.

Yes we have a one lease spot/one hunter who fills their own tags. We cannot bring our kids and let them shoot off of our tags. When my brother in law was on the lease he had one spot and his son was the sole shooter. My BIL was not allowed to shoot deer, but he could shoot all the hogs and coyotes he wanted. This may change as we get farther from the drought, but I can not make any promises in that regard. I understand we have plenty of fawns on the ground in good health. After the 2011 season the 2012 spring fawn crop was not so good.

Not trying to stir anything up here at all, but you say that things may change after the drought. Whats the difference between my daughter and I shooting up my tags than me shooting them all up? I am only asking because I had a landowner that had the same rule once and couldn't give me a good explanation. All I could figure is that maybe he thought the hunter would be good with 2-3 deer and if two or more were hunting off one hunters tags they would take all five.

I'm pretty sure that's the reasoning.
