Have any of you guys bought and used the S.U.G.A.R coat dog collar that you can mount a go pro onto? I bought one because the YouTube videos are awesome but I can't keep mine from sliding around upside down. It's not that it's to big I can make it choke the dog bit I can't make it stay up.

Try V.I.A.G.R.A What are you like 16 years old? Have any of you guys bought and used the S.U.G.A.R coat dog collar that you can mount a go pro onto? I bought one because the YouTube videos are awesome but I can't keep mine from sliding around upside down. It's not that it's to big I can make it choke the dog bit I can't make it stay up. When I was playing around with using a gopro on my Vizsla I could tell from looking at that collar that there was no way it would work well. I think the only way it would work would be to use it for the mount, but alter it by adding attachments to incorporate it with a dog harness. I don't like this one either as the straps are too thin for how tight it would have to be, but it's getting closer. http://www.mackspw.com/Item--i-CYH1016My idea was to build a mount into this harness. http://www.ruffwear.com/Web-Master-Harness_2Then Blaze lost her vision and I lost steam on the idea. Good luck on the endeavour. I would be interested to know what really works if you find a solution.

I thought about sewing a d-ring to it and then maybe one to my dog vest, but that would be to hot for dove hunting.

I've been looking for one for my Counter HD forever. I tried mounting it on my lab during duck season with some contraption i made myself.. man, that was painful to watch (had turn my head upside down half the time). The chest mount doesn't work that great for labs.. unless you like to look under water. http://contour.com/stories/splash-dogs-buddy-cam-chest-mount

The sugar videos lead you to believe that you can get that kind of shots with that collar. I'm here to tell you that's a lie. Worked all duck season with mine on almost all of my dogs and never got it to work. I've shot some with the collar mounted under the dog's head and flipped the video. Still not what we're wanting but it did give some funny views of some training retrieves. Very bouncy though. Tried the vest mount too and it never worked even with some modifications. It's too floppy to support the weight of the camera. Got busy with other projects so I've put it on the back burner for now. I've got a design for another collar mount that I'm going to try soon.

Every video footage I seen that's been mounted on a dog, is just to bouncy to watch for very long. It needs something to stabilize the video footage.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

Seems to be better once they are in the water.. smoother.. at that point using YouTube's image stabilization might work well.
I think I'm gonna try a vest mount this year.

Ive tried every way possible this spring and I guess Im just too dumb to get it to work. Like Brad B said, the collar is way to flimsy to support the weight of it. Ive yet to figure a way to get decent video off of it.

Looks promising. http://dogcameramount.com/But I don't think any dog mount will give footage that is really usable without running it through some aggressive image stabilization software and then slowing it down some.

I think I'll try it out, you can tell in the footage the camera is sliding to the left. Dogs running will be painful to watch, swimming should be ok.
