Went to the deer lease with my fiancé and her parents over the Memorial Day weekend to clean up around the house. Saturday evening the wind was blowing pretty good but my fiancé and I decided to go try to call up a coyote just to see what would happen. We set up overlooking a little draw with the wind in our face and where we have had success in the past. I set up the foxpro and mojo critter about 75 yds down the draw and hit the pup in distress call. (Which from THF I had learned that this works well this time of year:) It wasn’t no time at all and here came two coyotes in a dead sprint over the ridge to our left 30 yds away! One was about 15 yards in front of the other and they came from kinda behind us! I had my S&W AR15, no shotgun... I drew up on the first one and pulled the trigger….safety was on! He got to the decoy spun and passed the other coyote on the way out. The second one ran right over the decoy and call and started to run straight away from me when he got the lead poison. We were like OH My Goodness! Did that just really happen?!? LOL Them coyotes were running so fast and just appeared out of nowhere. When It was over she said, and I quote “Now I know why you bought a Foxpro!” haha So the next morning her dad and I woke up early to go call. First stand came up empty. On the second stand, same basic setup as last night, medium sized draw, call, decoy, pup distress; again in no time here came a coyote in a dead sprint from about 250 yds away. But at about 50 yds from the decoy, 100 yds from us it just slammed on the brakes and stopped. (I was wondering why it didn’t run over the decoy like the two last night? It couldn’t have winded us with our wind direction.) I shot AT it, missed for some reason, and it took off. And I came up empty with the 2 running shots I took. Lol. So we were amped up and talking about what just happened and here comes another one from the same direction as the first. He looked like he wanted to come in but just didn’t… He got back in the brush before I could get a shot on him. All in all, we called up 4 coyotes and only connected with one. But we did have a heck of a time doing it!I cant wait to go back out there!

Nice. It's hard to beat a Foxpro.
I want it to party in my mouth.
