Not looking for a debate of which is the best rifle. I'm looking for personal reviews of the Remington 700 Sendero SFII. I'm looking at the 7mm Mag version. How accurate are they? Are they worth the money compared to other Remington?

I've owned 2....a 7mag and a 300RUM.
both where 1/2 guns with minimal load development. I don't shoot factory ammo so can't input there. The sendero has always been regarded as an accurate platform and I have not heard of an inaccurate one. They are too heavy for my taste anymore.

I had a vssfll in .22-250 which is the same thing, just the varmint version. I could shoot a 5 shot group that all the holes touched. It was Sweet. But I didn't like the 26" heavy barrel. Mainly because it was a pain to carry.

I got a VS in .308. It's accurate as hell. If you want a sendero in non magnum short action calibers look at the VS or the one watchale mentioned.

I have the exact gun you're looking at and it shoots sub 1" @ 200 which is the max the gun range has. They are heavy girls as others have said, but they feel solid. I personally don't like the fat palm swell either, but the earlier generations didn't have that.
"I have too many guns," said no one, ever.

The pros, the gun is accurate and has relatively low recoil due to the weight of the rifle. The con, the gun is very heavy and would be a good stand gun, but carrying it around in the mountains will wear you out. I have one in a 300 WM. It will come with a good stock and all I would recommend doing is working the trigger.

I just bought one in 300 Win Mag....but haven't shot it yet. (Waiting on my scope to come in from Midway....should be here Tuesday ) I personally like heavy rifles, but that's just me. I have heard many good things about the accuracy of these guns.

I have a sendero 1 in 270 win. I love it and it shoots great with a variety of loads, factory and my handloads. At one point in time I have a mix of 5 different loads, some factory some handload that would all group under an inch with the same point of aim at 100 yards.
My only regret is I wish I would have gotten it in 7 mag, but I bought the gun when I was 9 or 10 so then 270 was all I wanted to handle.

Will the twist rate that comes in the sendero handle the longer 180 grain bullets? That would be my only thought.

matt .270 is plenty of gun. with handloads you can get a .270 to get pretty dang close to a 7mm with 140 grain bullets

I like a heavy rifle in the blind. Easier to steady that way. JMO.

I can understand somebody not wanting a Sendero if they were chasing Dall Sheep in Alaska.

Stevens may be accurate but I like nice guns. There's more I look for in a gun other than accuracy and the Stevens lacks a few things.

I have a hard time believing that a Stevens will shoot as good as a sendero That being said, field and stream did a test of several economy rifles and most of them shot very, very well Even if they did shoot to the same degree of accuracy....the stevens is still ugly as sin and the sendero a fine piece of artillery both visually and performance wise
