Kershaw, Gerber. I like the ats34 blades. Benchmade have harder steel, but you pay for it.
BTW Kershaw for 9 bucks on camofire, better hurry. I got mine.

Have you tried the Havalon Piranta Edge? Give it a shot and you'll become a believer as well. Crazy sharp replaceable surgical autopsy blades.

I have a Wayne Goddard limited edition Spyderco made of ATS-55 stainless and its the best pocket knife I have ever owned.
only complaint is that I have worn it so much the pocket clip has wollowed out the mount a little.(should have a metal insert)
sent it back to Spyderco and for $5 the sharpened and replaced the clip.

Whether or not a knife is easy or hard to sharpen and if it holds that edge is entirely dependent on the type of steel used. The guy at the top that said he had a benchmade that was hard to sharpen probably has one of their military black class knives made of D2 steel. This steel is hard to sharpen no doubt, but it holds its edge Nd is VERY durable. Just send it back to benchmade on their life sharp program and they will put razor edge on it. My money is on S30V steel. Sharpens pretty easily and holds a razor edge for ever! Either way everyone, it's all about the steel. Have yet to find my dream knife. I rotate my collection out on what I carry. Benchmade, Spyderco, CKRT, Etc. next one I buy though will be an Emerson !

Carbon steel Boker tree brand only wayto fly I have a Boker Stockman I found in a newly-plowed field while dove hunting when I was about 12. No telling how long it had been there or how old it is but after a good cleaning it's been a great knife ever since.

I have carried the same Eye Brand for years now. Those knives are about like a sore dick... you just can't beat 'em.
