Haven't seen it but I'm sure it's marketed to compete with Winchester's "hog" specific line of ammunition.

Sell the sizzle not the steak. Put a little hammer stencil on the front of every bullet. Just like the Savage Hog Hunter.

Looks to me that its nothing more than Remington ammo loaded with TSX bullets and given a fancy name. Only time will tell if it comes with a fancy price tag to.
I do like the idea of a 62gr TSX in the 223. Lord knows my 55gr TSX sucked on hogs!

Picked some up at Academy today because it was the only .223 they had. Whenever I get a chance to use it I will let you guys know how it does.
29.99 a box....so yeah, hype price tag too

just looked at some 30-06 at academy
44.$ and change i think i will pass
just a gimmick
and where do they get off, where the price of ammo is supposed to be going up, and then putting a new wrapper on it.
same ammo but with a new wrapper, so what are we paying for?
ammo or a new wrapper?
you would think. the box would be the last thing they are worried about. but no. some how they find money to put alot of attention into the color on the box

I had some 62gr 223 and my Browning A Bolt II couldn't handle them. The barrel is 1:12" twist and they were flying all over the place. That was an expensive 20 rounds to find out I couldn't use them.

After some experimentation (shooting hogs), the best bullet I've used has been the Nosler Partition. I haven't tried the TSX bullets.
And for Newt1234, I guess you don't reload. If you did, I'd suggest that you try the Sierra 63 gr SMP. That works pretty well on pigs too, though not as well as the Partition. But it's a lot cheaper than the Partition. That short 63 gr Sierra might stabilize in your rifle.
All that said, my serious Hog Hammer is now my 260. The 270 will most certainly do the job, but the 260 does it with less powder and recoil.

No, never tried reloading. I would love to try it but without someone to show me the ropes I just figure I will buy my ammo at Academy. I'm not going through much ammo anyway so it would take years to pay off.

Hog hammer = 225gr Bullets at 2700fps for about $.55 per round. Or $11 per box. That's the benefit of reloading.
Edit: you are correct. If you are a hunter and not a shooter then it doesn't pay to reload.

That is kind of what I thought after looking in to the cost of the equipment. Maybe something to try one day but for now, academy will suffice.

.323" 200 grain FMJBT @ 2380 FPS + Head shots within 150 yards = My current DRT Hog Hammer. It's a rather spectacular display upon impact. Love me some 8x57mm JS.

hey black coal... i have a savage hog hunter, it may have been a gimmick but its the straightest shooting gun in my safe. it also has iron sights, something you dont see to much anymore. i am shooting 1/4 inch groups at 200 yards
Isn't it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back everything is different.
Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing.
