What I laugh about now is how everyone who had seen this happen before still said, "...BUT this time it's different!" LOL It was about 4-6 months the first time he was elected, why would it be any different now.

Yup.

I've been told for years my attitude about people in general is too pessimistic. wtf When your suspicions get confirmed, it's kind of a bittersweet thing. Too bad it's gotta be this way, but human nature is what it is.

My wife has a BIL in NC. He had considered an AR before all this got started, but never pulled the trigger. Anyway, time went by and at the peak of this pricing mess he called and wanted to chat about what manufacturers to consider. I told him none, wait til this passes and asked why he just had to do this now. His response was because he feared the day would come that Obama would tell him he couldn't, so he was doing it now. The guy doesn't hunt and has limited opportumities to shoot the thing. I mean, really... You grossly overpay for something that you'll never use just to say you have it? Ugh!

Saw ads for people selling AR platforms for twice what you can find them at. Well I guess I should say trying to sell them.

I saw a guy yesterday on another forum selling a Bushmaster ORC for $1200 when they are selling on gunbroker for under $700.

I got a PM from a guy trying to sell me his Colt le6920 for 1500$( says that is what he paid for it), and when I replied that was too much considering the local walmart has them for 400$ less, he kinda got pissy. Then I looked up his screen name, and he had the same rifle in the classifieds for 2000$.

Yep, a whole lotta the phrase, "just wanting what i've got in it" in regards to ARs for sale now. And that ain't happening...

I was at Cabelas again today. Normal prices and they had probably 30 plus ARs. No way I'm paying $1200-$1500 for a bone stock used Bushmaster, DPMS, SW etc. brand new ones can be had for that price. I got a feeling there are still going to be lots of ARs for sale at more than you can buy one new for the next year or so. Too many bought high.

we've all been told not generalize or stereotype people because its not politically correct. Problem is, when they keep proving our pessimistic points to be true, are we really generalizing or stereotyping them, or are we reading them dead on?
Makes you wanna reexamine our views, don't it?

Those that over paid only have to wait for the next crisis. There will be another person that will be willing to buy at inflated prices when the next time. A circle that should happen in about 3 years.

A fool and his money are soon parted, and a fool looking for a weapon can be fooled pretty darn fast. up
