I had never heard a rattle snake, until yesterday. My son, my brother and myself were checking cameras, feeders and clearing the roads of over grown branches. We stopped to clear one section,my brother is in the back seat on the passanger side and my son is in the front passanger seat. My brother steps out of the back seat and goes back of the vehicle and starts to clear limbs on the driver side. Kyle steps out of the front passanger seat and that is when I hear the snake begin to rattle, 2 feet from my son. I was able to get Kyle to stop and then he heard the snake and saw it. My brother came around and took one shot at it with the pistol. The snake moved into the bush and kept rattling at us. We were able to move some of the brush and Kyle took it out! The down side, his first shot destroyed the rattle, his second shot destroyed the snakes head! The snake had a rabbit in it!

I have killed one snake with a rabbit inside like that one. That snake I killed was way bigger than that one though. Hard to imagine that sixe snake eating that size rabbit.

Good thing he was full. They tend to be more fogiving when digesting. Glad you were not.
