We share-crop 300 acres near Ennis. Our guy has planted giant sunflowers this year (again) - two years ago they produced the only birds for miles around, nasty drought that year.
And......there's already tons of birds out there.

Same in Denton County! Birds everywhere It seems like I have seen quite of dove here in Lewisville this year.

Birds have definitely moved on north. Still seeing some in red river- near wheat, corn fields. Not as thick in north central Texas as they were.
My BWT also left a week ago- saw a lone female who either nested or was injured. Here right wing was sticking up 90 degrees
