Went to the ranch this weekend to fill feeders and boy is it green. All the ponds were completely full. Looks like we are going to have another great season. banana

Nah last year was odd at our place. Saw some massive deer during bow season, once regular season kicked in we didn't see squat. One big bodied 8 taken.

Same thing in Erath. Bucks on camera at night but few seen during gun season in daylight. I did manage to luck in to a nice ten point though. Bumper crop of Spanish Oak acorns, too warm-windy, full moons. Not a great season for most folks. Should be great carryover this year though.

Same goes for us. Saw one pig during bow and rifle season and that came the last weekend of gun season. Seemed like we saw most of the big bucks during the first and second weekend of rifle season.

Just think about all those Bucks that didn't get shot. Most of those are still out there. Rains= horns. Good luck everyone.

It's always something in Mills county. Wish our ponds still had fish I could have found a good use for those hoppers.

I hunt about 8 miles south of Goldthwaite off of 183.

Does anyone know how much it rained in that area Saturday?

Currently things are green but the tanks are less than 1/2 full.

I hunt a bit further south off of 183 and according to people there this weekend, out tanks which were less than 1/3 full are up over 3/4 full now.

Lord, Keep it coming please.

Got about 1 1/2 - 2" in that area Friday and Saturday. Thank the good Lord there was no hail this time. Between the last 2 storms 2 of our campers have lost 4 windows, 7 roof vents, and an ac shroud. The up-side, should be a good year for horns.....

Wow! Hopefully I haven't had any hail damage. It will a few weeks before I get back down there.
