Hey guys, I mentioned an upcoming blackbuck group hunt we would be putting on soon & I finally have the "skinny" on the date & details!!

The hunt will take place the weekend of June 28-30th, 2013 on a private ranch just outside of San Angelo, Tx. The ranch is 2,000+ acres and loaded w/ blackbuck. This will be the FIRST blackbuck hunt offered to the public!

Openings: 5 total spots for this hunt (4 spots left, as of this moment)

Hunt Cost - $1,750/hunter
[Hunt includes: (1) trophy ram and (2) does + varmint hunting] You will also be able to shoot ADDITIONAL does for a nominal fee.

Deposit - $500 (to hold your spot; balance due ONLY after harvesting your ram!)

Details: the hunt will start Friday afternoon and end on Sunday afternoon. Every hunter SHOULD have a shot at a really good ram and we expect 100% success. (On my recent trip to the ranch, we spotted 30-40 bb and 6-8 shooters...in less than 2 hours!)

Hunts will consist of blind hunting in the am/pm with spot & stalk and safari style mid-day (if necessary). Hunts will be guided 2x1 or 1x1. Game care & cleaning will be taken care of for you by our guides. Gourmet meals & lodging are included (you are also welcome to stay "in town" which is about a 15 min drive from the ranch).

We'll also have activities lined up in the evenings (washer tourney, poker tourney, guitar picking around the campfire, etc...in other words, we plan on having ALOT of fun while we're out there!) There will also be prizes/awards for 'big buck', 'best shot', etc.

We have also worked out a discounted rate w/ J's Taxidermy in San Angelo on shoulder mounts. Should you choose to leave your trophy with us, J's will mount your ram for $475. This option is at your discretion.

What's a reasonable expectation as to how big the blackbucks will be?

STAGMAN - they do have some axis that they mentioned being an option, in addition to blackbuck. That's all they have. All low fence.

WBT - I would safely say that around 20" straight tape, but I suspect that there will be several larger than that and there are some brutes running around out there, but I'd rather tell you the "low end" and be wrong than the opposite...

Your saying blinds, is this rifle only?

Did I mention the Duck Dynasty clan (Willie, Korie, John Luke & Sadie) will also be in San Angelo that weekend?! Maybe you can parlay a trophy blackbuck and a elbow rub w/ the Robertsons!

What is the cost of the trophy blackbuck buck?

The hunt is $1,750 (minus $100 for THF members, so $1,650). Assuming that you're asking if you can just shoot a ram & no does...??

Answer: Yes, but the cost is the same.

Reason: The main focus is getting everyone a trophy blackbuck, BUT one of the other priorities during the hunt will be to help the ranch reduce their numbers, so shooting does is important to them. We plan on shooting atleast 10 does while we're there. You don't HAVE TO take does, but the price of the hunt remains the same. Just think of the 2 does "freebies"!

$1,650 is still an absolute STEAL for a (close to guaranteed) trophy blackbuck hunt, especially on a ranch that hasn't been hunted. If anyone can find one cheaper right now (w/ food & lodging) I really would like to hear about it (seriously, I've been looking...)

Will yall be doing this hunt next year? If so I would like to be put on the list! If I had not of killed 2 exotics this year I would jump on it but im limited to two per year lol

Lauren, we hope to make it an annual event, but don't know for sure. Congrats on your 2 "other" exotics this year! You should share the trophy pics on our FB page!

Also everyone, wanted to mention...the hunt INCLUDES 2 bb does, but the ranch is really wanting to reduce their numbers, so you will likely be able to take ADDITIONAL does for as little as $50 each! That means you could literally shoot 6-8 bb does for what you can buy ONE for at any of the recent live auctions!!

It's very tempting. I would be all over this if I didn't have an axis hunt planned in two weeks.

Ok well if you do, do a hunt I want to for sure do it. I will look tall up on fb! wish I could come. But I need to save some animals to hunt later on in life! Dang I hope yall do I next year might have a couple hunters if u have another one nect year

I'm definitely in for next year.....already got an axis hunt next week and a free range cow elk later in summer.
