Anything left standing after last night?

Heard one report of a tornado around Blanket and our lease is just east of there off FM 573.

We got hit bad 4 years ago, and a little bit last year and the storm last night looked to be as bad or worse.

Ours is outside of Gustine. The farmer removes most of the trees for us. I am sure the two remaining trees were torn down last night.

We are in the same area near Democrate. Going to make a quick trip up there Saturday to see if everything is still standing. Or if anything is still standing. If someone makes it up there before me, let us know how it looks.

Blanket was hit decently hard. Comanche is all good. I am sure there are some trees up rooted or twisted off but from what I have been told from my parents in Comanche the lakes are full(well mercers preserve) and water is high. They said they got approx. 4.5 inches yesterday.

That's good news.

When I was home mid March the water level on this dock was between the third and fourth boat slip walkways. This was after the rains.

Here in eastern Erath, we're in a black hole. Our neighbors to the southwest seem to get a lot more rain than we do. I've seen storms in Comanche coming our way and then when they hit these chalk hills split and fizzle out, only to rejoin just to the east of us. Happens all the time.

No this is a private lake! My parents own a lake lot out there.

I think it is. I thought they changed the name of it to lake Comanche. Developers bought it and are selling lots. It's supposed to have great fishing.

Lake Eades and Lake Comanche are two separate lakes that are close to each other....about 10 miles apart. Lake Eades is off FM573 and Lake Comanche is off Hwy 16.

Finally got to my lease over the weekend, no damage in the camp, stock tanks are full, and everything is very, very green! Wheat on the ranch north to us....things looking good so far!

This is what used to be called Lake Comanche. Lake Comanche's name was changed to "Mercer's Preserve" it is about 3 miles out on hwy16 then hang a right and go another mile or so. Lake Eanes you head out on hwy16 and then you hang a right on to Fm590 then a left on to FM573.

Hoof: Very nie place and fishing is excellent. Not a whole bunch of houses around the lake. There are a bunch of lots varying in size that are available. Google mercer's preserve and you can find out more about the lots, etc...

jdickey how far past Lake Eanes is your place? When you are headed south on 573 and cross the first bridge that comes out of Lake Eanes the land to your due west is ours, it actually starts before you get to that bridge on right and goes until the dirt road at the crest of hill on the right. Has an old barn that sets on top of the hill to your right.

I've seen your place and often wondered if it was leased out. I'm just south of your place about 2 miles on the same side of 573. You'll see a big house up on the hill, that is the Huffstutler Ranch and we are on the south fence line of their ranch. Been there going on my 5th year; 4 of us hunt about 320 acres.

It is leased out. There are some good deer in that area. We killed several pretty good bucks off that place before we leased it out.

We've had some good bucks on our place too and didn't have pigs until two years ago. This past season was pretty rough for the deer, not too many quality bucks, and most of the does we saw were without fawns.

Maybe this rain will help get things back to normal. I even put in a food plot this year. Looks like we got some rain this morning, too. We've got two stock tanks on the place, one 5 acre and one 2 acre, both were full last weekend.

Well if it ever comes open I will let you know. LOL. There are 3 probably 20 acres fields in those trees. You can see the one from the road as you cross the bridge. I may be way off on the acerage of the fields but it has been probably 10 years since we have hunted it.

Dickey do you ever hit los juanes for breakfast or cj's diner on the square? If not try them out if you ever have time.

Also if you don't have a taxidermist you use regulary let me know there is an excellent one in Comanche.

We have "hit" Los Juanes a few times as well as CJ's...but like the Rockin' J much better, especially their Friday night fish nite! Also hit Brennan's Winery quite often!
