There are so many choices these days. It used to be that you shot a 4" or 5" vane. Maybe you ran it straight, maybe you put a small helical on it. And that was about it.

Now there are a TON of different vanes and configurations. There's the blazer vane by Bohning or the QuickFletch by NAP or the QuickSpin vane, or the old style 4" or 5" vanes. There's even the round disc looking thing (I forget what they're called) that's held on by your nock that isn't a vane at all!

So what Vane do you shoot and why?

Me? I'm still old fashioned I guess, or just too lazy to change my current vane set-up. I shoot 4" Bohning vanes with a slight helical.

2" Blazers. I shoot them because they are the most consistent, are hard to damage and they stick best to the arrows.

Two years ago I fletched a dozen KVs with 5 inch feathers. Arrows shoot like a dart. Almost all my shots are under 25 yards, with most at 18 yards.

OHHH Bowhunt Only those Circular Discs you are talking about are called FOBs as well....It just came to me as I laid down!! I have shot them at targets an they are really accurate as described, but I just can't get away from shooting vanes for some reason!?!?!

I shot FOBs since they came out. I was one of his testers. They are crazy accurate. I've killed tons of critters with them. Just recently went back to blazers. Still undecided on what I'm gonna do

Lol, yeah I'm taking my old Bear Whitetail Hunter (got it back around 1980)after Pronghorn in Wyoming this year. It is now the deadly combination of 'old meets new'. Shooting fingers too... although its a bit slow (200 fps) its actually quieter than my brothers modern compound. It will be my first 'real' archery hunt.
