55 gn ballistic tip in the neck dropped a 285Lb axis last week in his tracks. Shatter the spine and they are rendered dead.

i really don't want a huge hole ripped in the neck of a buck I'm gonna mount.

I've killed plenty of whitetail with a 55 grain V max and if you hit them a bit low, it looks like you killed them with a hatchet.

anyway, I wasn't hunting outta a blind,so shot angles weren't always perfect. like the security of a bigger gun. I never would have got a neck shot on this deer
