Twindad,Thats the recipe that i posted on tff. Its great. adjust the sugar level if you need to. the first batch i made I actually cut the recipe down to 1/4 of a batch. The next batch i made a 1/2 of batch. That last on,1/2 of batch also, i cut the sugar in half. I did that because the apple juice and the apple cidar were sweet enough. Now if you want apple jack don't use the apple juice. All in all its good. The ladies sure do like it.And oh by the way I don't strain it either. Good drinking!

I've made very similar batches, everyone loves it...I've also done lemon moonshine. Very good for the ladies....:)

I would use the same as i did in the apple pie, just sub the apple juice and or the apple cider for lemonaid. See my original post on ttf for amounts.

Ingredients: 2 cups Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice 6 cups Water 2 cups Granulated Sugar 2 cups 151 Proof Everclear
1: Put the water and sugar in a small pot, heat over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and the water starts to clear. It does notneed to boil. Stir occasionally so you do not burn the sugar. Now let it cool.
2: Add the Lemon Juice and the Everclear to your syrup, stir it all together and bottle it. Like all other liqueursit mellows with age, a few hours, a few days, a few weeks . . . its up to you!
This recipe yields about 3 quarts.
This recipe is a little tart, but its what I prefer. If its too sour for you add a little sugar, a tablespoon at a time until you get the taste you want. This is the Joy of Making Your Own, you customize it to your taste.

I've made applejack from store bought hard cider. I used Angry Orchard Crisp Apple. Just pour it into a plastic container and put it in the freezer. Everything but the alcohol freezes, just pour the applejack through a strainer. If you take what you pour off and freeze and strain again, it will be even stronger.

If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

I made a batch of this two weeks ago. AWESOME! It got better each day it sat in the fridge. You can't taste the alcohol at all. I will definitely make it again.

Why? Alcohol doesn't spoil

It's not pure alcohol any longer. It's heavily cut with juice and sugar but I'm not sure if that's totally correct or if there is some sort of a fermentation process involved. I will be trying this recipe though.

Reason I say that is because buddy of mine gave me some homemade shine about 6 months ago and it has sat in the pantry with no ill effects. Still awful good and keeps getting better!!

I would call this an Everclear and apple cocktail, not moonshine. Shine is made from fermenting fruit, not boiling juice and sugar and adding corn liquor. Probably needs to be refrigerated to keep from spoiling.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

I kept mine in the fridge since its not actual moonshine. Tastes better cold IMO.

Jono I am going to try your recipe for the lemmon. Ringer 1 This one was for you. Payback for teaching me how to correct my briskits! As for TEXFLIP. Your wrong. Everclear is made from corn. It's the purist form of alcahol.Any time you add fruit to a mix it's just flavoring. You need to start watching a couple of the "Moonshiner shows". Also I am not into breaking any laws. If I did make my own shine it would still be everclear when i got done ,unless I used rye ,or fruit to make brandy.or until I put it into a chared barrel to color and flavor it.By the way the is a company in houston that sells small to large chared barrels and flavorings to make your own wiskey from everclear.
