that's awesome when the can starts heating up.

Technical question:

Why did the can start heating up first towards the middle of the can? Seems to me it would be hotter closer to the muzzle...

Probably where most of the gas is directed by the baffles.

Also that adapter sticks up in there pretty far.

Why I had TAB build me a cover for my can. 3 shots and there's significant suppressor mirage = no bueno. Cool video!

Very Informative. An "Ah-ha!!" moment!!
So to you edjumicated engineer types out there:
This tells me that the gas distribution (suppression) is not very uniformly distributed down the length of the can.
This can looks to be about 7 or 8 inches in length . . however the thermal profile tells me that most of the gas is being captured in the first two or three baffles from the end of the adapter. The last two or three inches of this can are doing very little (if any) suppression.
This video should be used to design a can with "tuned" baffles that distribute the gas more gradually over the entire length.

first entry into the suppressor, is designed to absorb the initial blast (heavier and sturdier built) takes more heat to raise the temperature, then gass starts through the baffles, which are thinner, lighter than the entry end (takes less heat to raise temp.
