There was something on this a while back, they did the testing at Best of the West in Liberty Hill, if I recall correctly.
Neat concept, not much practical application for me. I never servered and have never learned to dial a scope the real way... Just paid 5 bucks for an iphone app that does the same thing.

Well, the iPhone app doesn't adjust the scope for you. That's where the other $21995 comes into play. Neither reads the ambient winds and other environmental conditions. So yeah, not real practical.
Also in the demos I have seen, Tracking point appears to track a location in the scope and not an actual object or location on an object. As such, when the object moves, the targeting is off.

Seriously? He misses a f-ing gazelle and he spends years and hundreds of thousands of dollars on technology that "won't miss"?
Wouldn't have simpler, faster, and cheaper to just learn how to shoot?
I swear, what is the world coming to? Next thing you know, we'll need an app to have sex.

If they do get a sex app, just get the Lite version and it should be free.....I'd put that app next to my angry birds app for when the deer movement is slow and the wife is with me in the blind, not to come home empty handed!

Yea, but if you get the lite version, your sex will be constantly interrupted with ads, and once you finnally completethe first three levels, then you will have to pay to keep going!

I thought it was the Internet that made anyone an expert? Or maybe it made everyone an expert. I don't know why the rest of you are so worried about missing. I've been hunting 120 years, shot tens of thousands of heads of game, and I've never missed a shot. What's this missing thing of which you speak?

Pretty good comments and I agree that this isn't really practical. Just wonder if it might be incorporated into a system for some of the wounded warriors on some of their special hunts. Price does seem to eliminate it from anyone I know even getting to hold it.

Funny & Timely. I just met with a client today in Austin that was talking about this at Lunch. He is not a hunter but loves guns and builds ARs. He has never shot an animal with a gun. Just a "Gun Nut" He said he shot this at the SHOT SHOW...I am somewhat familiar with that event but not really...and said it was an awesome experience. 1000 yards. I think it is just a toy for the rich right now but pretty cool non the less. BTW..he said the gun was like a 1500 dollar rifle but the point was the scope. I'd shoot it if I could...would I buy it...not even if I won the lottery this weekend. I will just keep practicing till I get tired of gut shooting my game at 120yds..damn I need to put the shotgun away and practice..

Apparently, more than a handful of folks can afford them. I got this from Jason at Tracking point in an email the other day:
The TrackingPoint Store Is Now Closed - Applications Only
Due to overwhelming demand for out XactSystems, our online store has now been closed. To place an order, you must fill out our online application. Once reviewed, a TrackingPoint firearms expert will contact you and you will be placed on the waiting list for Precision Guided Firearms as more become available.

Possible...but hey sold whatever they had. I do think the client list is limited...not only from economics, but desire...

Don't kid yourself. There's is no doubt in my mind the online store closure and "application required" is because the government wants to limit who gets the technology. It's awesome for military purposes, and for gun enthusiasts or competition shooters, but hunting its nuts.

I don't care how much technology and money they throw at it. It will never hang with the man that knows his rifle/ load/ ammo like the back of his hand and has years experience adjusting shots for environmental conditions.
