I can't help you with the "best" person because I use a dealer local to me in East Texas.
Basically the process goes: 1. You go to dealer. Select and buy a suppressor. Sometimes they may not have the one you want in stock but that's no problem -- another in-stock dealer can often transfer. You pay for, but do not receive it at this time.
2. Paperwork gets sent to ATF with a check for $200 (not included in price of suppressor.) If you are doing an Individual form you will need to be fingerprinted and have your Chief LEO (Sheriff) sign the form. This is the case for EACH suppressor you buy. If you form a trust, you can bypass the Chief LEO signature requirement.
3. Wait (maybe 6+ months)
4. When the dealer gets a copy of your paperwork back from the ATF with the stamp, you are informed and can now take possession. You cannot take the suppressor home until this step is complete.
My first one took approximately 3 months to get approved (several years ago) and now several months into waiting on another one right now. I hear it's about 6 months or more.

I am going the route of a trust. I heard from multiple people that my head leo will not sign off.
I will most likely use silencer shop because they are local to me. Don't know what gun I will use yet, just know I want one.

I'll bet you're looking at close to a year wait right now for any sort of NFA item.

Right now things are taking 6 weeks or more just to go pending, then roughly still 6 months from pending to approved. Best thing to do is buy an in stock can, send in the paperwork, and forget about it. It will feel like Christmas when you get the call to pick it up.

Can you track your pending status online?

Support a local product and contact David Whitson at Shark suppressors. Very high quality titanium suppressors and everything from the trust to product is handled in house.

Can you track your pending status online? No, not officially. You can, however, go to NFATracker.com and see other people's pending stamps and dates to get an idea of where your's should be without actually calling the BATFE.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Are you paying the price listed on his site? Because that's pretty high, $1500 for the Shark. I can pick up the SAS Arbiter Titanium which is lighter weight and rated for .300 Win Mag for under $1000.

Does it have a removable thread cap to change for all your firearms or are you paying $150 each rifle to thread and crown again? Can you take it apart to clean or replace baffles? How's their warranty and customer service?

Say you have a baffle strike on your YHM...what's the turn around on getting it repaired? Are you somehow compensated for the sale of Sharks? You seem awfully pushy.

Yep when I signed up for THF that was my intended purpose 2 years ago. Now that you've exposed me I'm not sure what to do with myself? Do you not own anything you take pride in? My response to the OP was that he was local and offered a good product/service. It seems it has been derailed to a suppressor comparison thread now. Have anything to add?
