So got to the blind on Saturday morning to find "thousands" of daddy long legs in my blind. Is there a natural deterent that I could use to keep them out of my blind or insecticide to deter them from making a home in my wooden blind?

Two guys, a pear burner, and a case of beer should take care of anything nasty waiting inside your blind before the start of deer season. Seriously though, I don't think there is much you can do to prevent insects, unless you absolutely seal that blind up air tight, and keep it that way. Almost anything left out in the country tends to get over-run with bugs/rodents if it offers them any kind of shelter from the elements.

Daddy Long Legs are as good as Geckos, don't bother them. I had several as pets long ago.

To be honest, there are really two varieties of interest. First are of the "harvestmen" variety that are totally harmless and likely what was in the stand (given the gregarious behavior noted). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpilionesThe other type of daddy longlegs does have venom, but it is very weak. These are not typically gregarious and not likely what was in the stand. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cellar_spider

Even if they could penetrate the human dermis, their toxin is so weak that you probably wouldn't even notice it. It's kind of creepy to see a thousand of them pulsating on the ceiling. If its loosely sealed, you can use a fly strip with the active ingredient of Dichlorvos to deter them. If it has large openings, then really nothing outside of a quick fogging with pyrethrum upon arrival will do much. If they leave on their own when you are there, I wouldn't do anything. They do more to kill the other bugs around there than anything you could buy in the store.

A cut horse apple will keep pests away.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

A cut horse apple will keep pests away. Those generally only work on insects that would be inclined to eat them. They have a naturally high concentration of, what is essentially, boric acid.doesnt really do much for the insects that don't eat it. Works great on American and Oriental roaches(water bugs). Slice them thin and throw them in the mulch beds.

I once spent a night hog hunting during which I twice felt something crawl on me which I flicked away in the dark. When it was time to leave, about 4:30 AM, I flipped on my red light and found a mottled camouflaged spider about 4 inches in length on the floor of the blind. He was most definitely not a daddy longlegs. Since he didn't bite me when he had the chance, I didn't kill him when I had the chance.

I was axis hunting at our lease a few weeks ago, there were tons of daddy long legs in the blinds. The first morning I opened the door to the blind to find a black widow waiting for me. Lots of daddy long legs in the blind as well but didn't seem to bother the black widow.

I won't lie and say it didn't help me stay alert wondering if the black widow had friends still hiding after I took care of the first one...the entire floor of the blind was covered in the creepy random black widow webs.

Black widows are like snakes, they live in pairs. If you see one, there are two.
I have NO blinds on the ground anymore to prevent small creepy creatures out of my hiding spots. I hate to spend the time needed to seal things up, I just getmit tight enough to prevent mice and snakes...I see small insects and geckos quite often.

I had a wolf spider on steroids come into the blind with me late one evening. I came in through the window and all I saw was a dark object moving. It was about the size of my iphone screen between legs. The body alone was the size of a water bottle cap.

Depending on how sealed your blind is you can spray it out with regular white vinegar and it acts as a pretty good bug deterrent. I've used it on the outside of the windows and doorways to the house and it works great. I Imagine it will reek for a couple days in the blind though, so I don't suggest if you are planning on using it that day.
Shot my first turkey today...Scared the crap out of everyone in the frozen food section, it was awesome!
