Long story short we strung up 1,100 meters of cattle panel in the morning and hunted in the late evening. i was in my hochsitz when this guy came out of the woods at 20 yards. I was shooting a styer 8X57IS with a schmidt and bender scope. video later after i edit it. Waidmannsheil!
she said ,why does that ammo have pretty green tips on it? the guy said its the eco-friendy ammo.

Waidmannsheil aus Heidelberg; that's a good abschußbock. We take as many spießers as we can before we start in on the elderböcke.
Can't tell but it looks like from the photo you took him in the ribcage and left the blatt alone. The other buck on the ground looks like he was right through the heart.
Where are you hunting? I am doing most of mine in and around Heidelberg, but have been to Graf and Hohenfels on occasion.
Korea is nothing like Germany, and no amount of Army Modernization propaganda will convince me otherwise. I miss my wife and kids something fierce

I shot him through the heart behind his left shoulder. The other reh was shot in the lungs. this hunt was near barenbach. I have not been to graf or hoho for a hunt yet... I try to hunt where ever i can. I have hunted edgar wald, hohenstein, and now barenbach. waidsmannsdank!

Are you near Baumholder or Wiesbaden? I am not familiar with those towns.
I have also hunted with Hans Hathaway at the Eger Revier and have taken a few good bucks in may, june and July there. I shot an 8 end Hirsch in Hohenfels in 2011. Never got lucky at Graf, and from the experience that I had with their forsters, I wouldn't go back.

Good post. It's nice to see some of the hunting abroad and learning other customs relating to it.
